We’re living school-free, with two children: pre teen and teen aged, who were previously schooled.
School-free life means following a path of lifelong learning. It means learning with vigour and self-motivation, instead of coercion. It also means that this lucky mama gets to spend time with her two beautiful children. They get to follow their interests, and keep their childhoods. And we get to choose our own schedules.
Home education is highly regulated here in Australia. We have to meet government requirements in terms of learning outcomes, which is a bit of a strange ask when we’ve chosen against the outcomes-based system to go school-free. Still, three years in, with our oldest child in his second year of what would be high school, and so far so good.
We love our awesome school-free life, and the social, learning, and life opportunities that come with it.
